BIOGRAPHY
Speedreader is a band that originated in the Church Hill neighborhood of Richmond Virginia. The band's music is defined by 90's alt/indie rock sensibilities, but with elements of other musical genres including traditional American music, punk, and yacht rock. The resulting sound is fuzz-filled, energetic, transitionally dissonant, and melodic. Speedreader played their first live show at Raise the Roost in Glen Allen, Virginia in August 2025. They have since played shows at The Canal Club, the BonAirRoo Music Festival, and the Bryan Park Bar & Grill. Audience numbers have ranged from ~40 to over 100. Speedreader has two upcoming shows scheduled in July and October, and are actively booking more events.
